Dedicated to enhancing public access television within the City of Bowie and its surrounding communities.
Mr. Wood is a multiple award winning producer with 37 years of media and business development experience. He has been an active producer with the Bowie Studio since 1993 producing dozens of shows throughout his career with Flights of Fantasy being the most well known. He created, produced, hosted and syndicated the popular groundbreaking television show FLIGHTS OF FANTASY, the first television news magazine show to feature “alternative entertainment”, i.e. comic books, video games, anime,fantasy and science fiction. Produced 200+ episodes between Flights and its spinoffs. He syndicated it nationally to 141 television stations and 3 satellite networks with an audience of 14 million viewers. Pre YouTube. It caught the attention of Hollywood and he got a nationwide series production deal with Multimedia Productions. He has won 32 BCTV/Dottie awards ranging from production, to best director, host, camera, and audio. Flights of Fantasy was awarded best series three years in a row.
He has been on the Board of Directors of the various incarnations of Bowie Access Television since 1996. He recently served 5 years as the President and Chairman of the Board of Bowie Community Media Corporation. He is currently the President of the Board again, making him the first 3 term president in the corporation’s history.
He is currently active in broadcast media production, program development and management. Mr. Wood is a Producer with Hollywood Home Entertainment, who have produced nationally acclaimed military documentaries such as “Hollywood Goes to War” and “Hitler to Hiroshima”, seen on Discovery Channel, History Channel, A&E. AHC etc. He is the Associate Producer and Online Project Manager for the documentary film “Arizona Heroes of WW1”, sponsored and supported by the Department of Arizona American Legion. It is an official WW1 Centennial Project for education and memorializing our veterans. It was theatrically released in Arizona to celebrate the brave men and women of Arizona who served in WW1 as part of the WW1 Centennial Celebration of the American Legion.

Award Winning Executive Producer and Host George Wood looks at the arts, business, popular trends, history and emerging trends in critical, funny, and insightful ways. For example, the show explores a new digitally animated modern retelling of the classic horror story – The Portrait of Dorian Gray. It opened discussions on cell phone/device addiction, presented leadership and acting techniques to improve your business, and highlighted some fascinating WWI heroes, explored the people, politics, and battles of the Korean and Vietnam wars, and much more.You never know what you will see on “Look at This” that will surprise, amaze, and amuse you.

“The Ed Brown Show” is a multiple Dottie Award winning community news and information show broadcast from Bowie for over 26 years. Featuring guests from the worlds of sports, business, politics, arts, and education. It’s founder Ed Brown was a P.G. County fixture for over 50 years. He believed in the power of young people making a difference in society, education, communication, economic empowerment, and development. A champion of civil rights and political truth. A local force of nature to be reckoned with. After he passed away in 2018 Award winning producer and close friend of Mr. Brown George Wood was asked by Mr. Brown’s family and host Ms. Kamaria Richmond to keep Ed’s legacy going on.

Read Science
“Read Science!” is a show where real life scientists talk to other real life scientists and various experts who have written science books for non-scientists. Produced by award winning producer George Wood, hosted by Joanne Manaster and Jeff Shaumeyer, both real live scientists. Guests have included some well known names such as astronaut Buzz Aldrin, naturalist and Pulitzer prize winning author, E.O. Wilson, astronaut and social media darling, Chris Hadfield, long time journalist Lynn Sherr, animal science and autism expert, Temple Grandin, 2014 non-fiction Pulitzer Prize winner Dan Fagin and more! The show was produced using remote conferencing technology to record and make those discussions available to all.
