Bowie Community Media Corporation

Bowie Community Media Corporation (BCMC) is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a tax exemption under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.

  • As an independent member-based organization incorporated under the Corporations and Associations Laws of the State of Maryland, BCMC’s funding is obtained primarily through a combination of producer fees, sponsorships, donations, and grants.
  • Programming airs on
  • Comcast TV Channel – Segments of your content will air across Prince George’s County, reaching 60,000+ households on Comcast channels 190 and 1097 on Saturdays and/or Sundays at 10am EST.
  • BowieTV YouTube Channel – Every episode is also featured online, helping us reach nearly 1 million monthly viewers across digital platforms.
  • Social Media – BowieTV content is regularly shared on Instagram, X, and Facebook.

BCMC offers holistic programming covering a variety of subject matters and topics including:

  • Talk shows and religious programs
  • Domestic animal care and adoption
  • Book discussions and author interviews
  • Mental and physical health programs
  • Education and veterans’ affairs
  • Sports events and interviews
  • Business strategies, documentaries, and many others

Our goal is to schedule diverse, entertaining, informative, educational, and creative programming while honoring First Amendment protections of free speech.

    Bowie Community Media Corporation (BCMC) is a non-profit organization offering residents of the City of Bowie, Bowie based businesses and organizations, and educational institutions access and training to produce their own programs for airing on local cable access television in the City of Bowie, Maryland.  We support the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, without bias or prejudice.

    BCMC’s mission is to:

    1. Promote lifelong learning through the creation, production and cable casting of programs aimed at the preservation, development, and enhancement of the diversity of thought, art, culture, and heritage within the Bowie community.
    2. Facilitate communication through broadcast and streaming technology; and
    3. Increase civic participation by promoting the use of televised public access.
  • Vision

    It is BCMC’s vision to:

    1. Create programming and content for Public, Education, and Government (PEG) use in a manner that is free of censorship, except as necessary to comply with State or Federal law.
    2. Provide a range of resources for program production for the users of the PEG channels.
    3. Develop and enforce such rules and policies that will ensure equitable access to the PEG channels and production with applicable State or Federal laws.
    4. Establish a broad base of community understanding, support, and involvement in PEG access television.
    5. Provide information to ensure the effective use of the public access channel(s).
    6. Assess community response to programming on the channel(s), to ascertain areas of need and aid in the implementation of additional programming.
    7. Provide sound management and financial strategies to ensure continued community access to and use of the access channel(s) in years to come.
    8. Participate in the development of further community uses of telecommunication technology; and
    9. Work cooperatively with other similar and related organizations locally, regionally and nationally to promote and develop meaningful community uses of public access programming.
