STEAM Your Dreams (SYD) is a groundbreaking nonprofit organization dedicated to reshaping the way young minds engage with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Based in Prince George’s County, Maryland, SYD is on a mission to inspire and empower elementary and middle school students across the Baltimore and DMV area. By blending STEAM education with the exciting worlds of eGaming and eSports, the organization fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, all while making learning fun.

Through its immersive programs, STEAM Your Dreams introduces youth to cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence, coding, cybersecurity, and autonomous technology. With a gamified approach to education, students earn points by participating in interactive projects, recreational activities, and eSports competitions. This unique method not only keeps students engaged but also helps bridge the STEM workforce gap by encouraging them to pursue careers in technology-driven industries.

One of SYD’s most exciting ventures is its televised game show, where students put their skills to the test in live competitions. To witness the impact firsthand, viewers can tune in everyday at 4 PM on Verizon Channel 11 and Xfinity Channel 77. Upcoming Events:

First up, a vital opportunity to give back—Bowie High School is hosting its Spring Blood Drive on March 14th from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the school gym. If you’re eligible, consider donating and helping save lives.

Next, get ready for an unforgettable performance! The Drama Department proudly presents Little Shop of Horrors at the Bowie Center for Performing Arts on February 28th and March 1st at 7 PM. Don’t miss this spectacular production—come out and support your fellow Bulldogs on stage!

Looking to expand your cultural awareness? Consider joining Bowie High’s International Club, where students learn about different cultures and discuss global issues. Meetings are held in the Media Center/Library on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 2:20 PM to 3:20 PM.

For students seeking community service hours this summer, the International Spy Museum is calling for responsible and hardworking volunteers to help with campers ages 9-12. Applications are now open, and interviews will take place at their Washington, D.C. headquarters.
